Cohen’s Hamburger Recipe
(Makes 8 good size patties)
3 lbs lean ground beef
1 package of onion soup mix
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
¼ Cup plus 1/8 Cup of dry breadcrumbs
1 ½ tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
In a large mixing bowl combine ALL of the above ingredients.
Using your hands, mix all of the ingredients until it comes together. Do not over work your ground beef or the meat will be tough.
Use your hand to score the ground meat into 8 equal sections.
Scoop a section and form it into a 4 ½” diameter flat, round patty. Place the patties onto a plate with a sheet of parchment OR wax paper to prevent the patties from sticking together.
Refrigerate up to 6 hours OR pop it into the freezer for a couple of hours like we did to firm up the patties.
Sprinkle it with a hamburger seasoning of your liking before grilling. We found a popular burger chain copycat seasoning recipe that we used.
We grilled it over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side which resulted in a well-done patty, but I promise you, it was still juicy and heavenly! Serve on a yummy bun with your favorite garnishes and enjoy your hamburgers.
Hope this recipe makes your next bar-be-que or dinner a little bit sweeter!
